Where I’m Going

Where is the Future Heading?

We all have that time where something is racing through our minds in the middle of the night, and we have to grab our phone and look it up. With me in 7th grade, that thought was, what am I going to do with my life? I was dead set on being a professional athlete, but it was setting in that very few make it that far. Somehow, I came up with the idea that if my professional athlete “dream” failed, I wanted to be an air traffic controller. So, I started researching schools that had good programs for that, and on that list was Kent State. Coincidentally, about a month later, I saw an article talking about the stress levels of air traffic controllers, and ultimately, that led me away from that career path.

When I started taking pictures, I realized that I wanted to continue down this path, or at least something related. After researching schools with good media programs, I saw Kent State University again, and that’s when I knew—this is the perfect school for me.

Future Flash Day

Taking CCP classes in high school has helped tremendously with preparing for college, as well as my pockets. While in high school, I completed 39 college credits, obtaining college sophomore status, maintaining a 3.94 college GPA, and finishing high school with a 3.97 GPA (unweighted), with my only B coming from a college class in the midst of my traumatic brain injuries.

I am majoring in Digital Media Production, where I plan to continue expanding my knowledge and experience. My goal is to become a technical director for a professional sports team. Kent State provides the newest equipment so that I will have the skills needed to obtain a job upon graduation. I also plan to work for TeleProductions. TeleProductions is Kent State’s video company that does the live production of athletic events, video boards, and other events and videos. Working with them will further add to my portfolio of experience and skills needed to have a successful career.
