In my future, I’ll be getting an internship next summer (2023) with anything social media editing, video editing, or content management related. I haven’t thought about where or what company yet, but once I start searching, I’ll have a better idea.
I plan to graduate from Kent State University in Spring 2024 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Digital Media Production. I will have completed a total of 120 credit hours.
My dream job is to carry my current skills and passion further into adult life. I’d love to video edit, picture edit or gather content for any event, interview or production. I want to be that person who works on putting/merging together clips into something bigger, such as a short film, simply uses sound and voiceovers to enhance videos, or photoshops pictures. Utilizing the tools we’ll be using in this class and other classes in my future is something I hope to happen. I’m making it a goal to put all of these components together and become a social media assistant, content creator and/or manager, or a video editor/picture editor.
The type of company I’m striving to work for is in the music industry. I imagine myself getting in on behind the scenes stuff from artists, whether it’s at interviews, concerts, fittings, or anything else they’d be involved in, and taking photos. Warner Music and Sony Music Entertainment are a couple of very considerable choices from what I’ve looked at.
If I had the option of working for my favorite band, Why Don’t We, that would be an extra plus. I’d absolutely love to help promote them on social media, manage their website, organize their merchandise, song, and video announcements, and edit content from behind the scenes. I’ll be searching for every opportunity available, however, they’d be my first choice if available.
