HLY Active is a Miami based men and women\u2019s lifestyle brand with a mission to merge activewear, sustainability, and avant-garde pieces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The brand\u2019s origin was inspired by not only my personal love for activewear and working out but my career at a small vintage shop in downtown Kent. With downtown Kent being a diverse fashion environment, my boss, Lance Calvert, and his brother-in-law went from a garage full of unique pieces to a small shop in Butler, PA, to being one of the newest and coolest stores in our college town. BrandedinKent <\/em>is one of the most unique stores I\u2019ve worked at as well as shopped at. The company has two brick and mortar locations as well as a textile recycling facility, ensuring our inventory is independently sourced and all remaining pieces are put to good use. Branded inspired my brand due to the fact that I learned hands-on that being sustainable takes a lot of extra work and research but it is so worth it.   <\/p>\n\n\n

HLY Active specializes in premium activewear that has specific collections for specific workouts; the brand carries both men\u2019s and women\u2019s clothing, specifically a yoga collection, a high-intensity training collection, as well as a loungewear collection, with hopes of expanding to outerwear, childrenswear, and accessories. HLY Active is unique because it prioritizes that studio-to-street sweet spot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

HLY also offers an omnichannel approach to shopping to ensure a seamless experience for customers while shopping and working out. With technology emerging, it is difficult to make a new brand stand out. However, HLY goes beyond PR emails and Instagram posts; the brand works with Spotify Music to curate playlists based on your workout. Not only will your outfit match your workout but so will your music. The brand also has podcasts on Spotify with weekly episodes released with the HLY CEO hosting and numerous sustainability, fashion, and other influencers guest starring. Customers can also find HLY on the website, HLYActive.com, as well as the instagram account, @HLY. Thus far in the brand\u2019s emergence, there is one brick and mortar store in downtown Miami. <\/p>\n\n\n

Inspired by Branded<\/em>\u2019s methods, HLY Active recycles all of the unused garments and donates it to fashion students and schools so they can reuse the fabric scraps. Any faulty or flawed pieces that can not be sold at a retail price are exported overseas to third world countries. In order to create the best quality pieces while also being sustainable, the pieces are made with a blend of natural organic fabrics and synthetic recycled fabrics. As a fashion merchandising student, double-minoring in sustainability and public relations, this topic was perfect for me to be creative and build my own brand while also bringing awareness to being more sustainable and shedding light on such an amazing company like Branded<\/em>.  <\/p>\n\n\n
